Education: Some high school, Completion of college CEGEP vocational or technical trainingCredentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Security Guard basic (pre-assignment ) training program certificate, Security Guard Licence, CPR Certificate, First Aid CertificateExperience: 2 years to less than 3 yearsLanguages: Speak English, Read English, Write EnglishWork Setting: Educational facilityType of Assignments: Fixed post, Foot patrol, Roving patrolSpecific Skills: Enforce regulations of establishments, Resolve conflict situations, Maintain order, Use telecommunications (i.e. two-way radio, cell phone, pager), Follow radio and emergency telephone procedures, Monitor security television, Operate security control room equipment, Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, Respond to alarms, bomb threats and other emergencies, Write reports, Appear in court as witnessSecurity and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearanceWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walkingTransportation Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver s licenceEssential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Computer use |
